We at Revive are certainly feeling the heat right now (I’m currently writing this blog with the fan on full blast and nursing a fairly painful sunburn…), but we aren’t letting some sticky weather stop our productivity!
As Brits, I sometimes feel that we can be woefully under-prepared for the changing seasons. You need only take a cursory glance and people’s hilarious tan lines on the beach to see that many haven’t been ready for the sudden temperature spike.
Your business doesn’t need to be the same. As we head into summer’s full swing, and with the year more than half over, are you ready for what the coming months have to throw at you?
Let’s have a look at some ways you can make your business summer ready!
Learn From Experience
There’s no better way to move forward then to start by looking back. Where was your business at this time last year and where did it go in the following few months? While you probably did a review at the end of 2016, it’s good to look back again with more hindsight to see how you can set yourself and your business on a good path for the rest of the year.
Your Main Business Goal
What motivates you to get up in the morning?
If you haven’t already, set yourself at least one big goal for the end of the year. While trying achieve something so large might seem intimidating, having something so ambitious to work towards can give you that extra push of motivation during tougher times.
Make sure it’s something big but, most importantly, achievable: whether it’s getting a certain number of clients, being featured somewhere, or even planning a complete rebrand! Whatever you think can get you fired up when things are looking down.
Change the old routine
Just because you might want to run your business like clockwork doesn’t mean everything has to be unchanging. As we get to this point in the year often we can find ourselves procrastinating more in the hot weather and feeling more tired of the same old routine. If you find yourself hitting the wall of your productivity then try shaking things up a little bit.
Change doesn’t have to be something big. It could be something as simple as switching a few morning and afternoon tasks, a brief change of scenery, or just changing your usual drink from tea to coffee (or an iced latte in this weather).
It might be known as “spring cleaning,” but summer is when it’s time to start thinking seriously about sprucing up some of your current marketing tools. When was the last time checked your website’s search rankings or updated your social media pages? Perhaps parts of your website could also do with a bit of a facelift. As we steam towards the end of the year, it’s good to start thinking already about how you want your business to look for 2018, and not let your marketing stagnate in the middle of the year.
